Urogynecology & Pelvic Health Care

Urogynecology Associates

Compassionate, expert care for women’s pelvic health

Pelvic floor conditions are common, treatable, and nothing to feel embarrasses about. Whether you’re dealing with bladder leakage, a sense of pelvic pressure, or ongoing pelvic pain, our team is here to listen, diagnose accurately, and guide you towards the treatment path that fits your life. You deserve to feel like yourself again – and we’re honored to help you get there.

Conditions We Treat

Pelvic floor disorders affect millions of women, yet many suffer in silence for years before seeking help. We specialize in diagnosing and treating the full spectrum of pelvic floor conditions, including:

Pelvic Organ Prolapse

A weakening of the muscles and tissues that support the bladder, uterus, or rectum can cause these organs to shift or drop into the vaginal canal. Symptoms may include a feeling of pressure bulging, or “something falling out,” especially with standing or activity. Prolapse is extremely common — especially after childbirth or menopause — and there are many effective
ways to manage it.

Urinary Incontinence

IInvoluntary leakage of urine can take several forms:

  • Stress Incontinence – leakage with coughing, sneezing, laughing, or exercise
  • Urge incontinence – a sudden, strong need to urinate, sometimes with leakage before reaching the bathroom
  • Mixed incontinence – a combination of both

IIncontinence is not a normal part of aging, and it is highly treatable.

Pelvic Pain

Chronic or recurrent pelvic pain can stem from the bladder, pelvic floor muscles, nerves, or a combination of factors. This may include pain with intercourse, pressure-type discomfort, or pain related to bladder filling and emptying. We take a thorough, whole-person approach to identify the source and create a plan for relief.

We also treat overactive bladder, recurrent urinary tract infections, fecal incontinence, and pelvic floor muscle dysfunction. If you don’t see your symptoms listed here, please reach out — we’re happy to help you find answers.

Diagnostic Services

Getting the right diagnosis is the foundation of effective treatment. Our evaluations are thorough, respectful of your comfort, and designed to give us and you a clear picture of what’s going on.

  • Comprehensive Pelvic Exam – A careful physical evaluation to assess pelvic floor strength, support, and any signs of prolapse or tissue changes.
  • Urodynamic Testing – A specialized set of tests that measure how well your bladder and urethra store and release urine, helping us pinpoint the specific type of incontinence or bladder dysfunction you’re experiencing.
  • Bladder Diary Review – A simple at-home tracking tool that helps us understand your patterns of urination, fluid intake, and leakage episodes.
  • Post-Void Residual Testing – A quick, painless measurement of how completely your bladder empties.
  • Imaging (Pelvic Ultrasound/MRI, as needed) – Used in select cases to further evaluate pelvic organ support or anatomy.
  • Cystoscopy – A brief, in-office procedure that allows us to look directly inside the bladder when further evaluation is needed.

We’ll always explain what each test involves and why we’re recommending it, so you feel informed and comfortable every step of the way.

Treatment Options

Every patient’s body, symptoms, and goals are different — so treatment is never one-size-fits-all. We start with the least invasive option that makes sense for your condition and only move toward surgery when it’s the right fit for you.

  • Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy — Targeted exercises and techniques, guided by a specialized pelvic floor therapist, to strengthen or relax pelvic muscles and improve bladder control and pelvic support.
  • A removable silicone device fitted to support prolapsed pelvic organs or reduce incontinence, offering a non-surgical option that many women use long-term.
  • Bladder Botox® Injections — A minimally invasive, in-office procedure that calms an overactive bladder by relaxing the bladder muscle, reducing urgency and leakage episodes.
  • Medications — Options to help manage overactive bladder symptoms or support vaginal tissue health.
  • Behavioral & Lifestyle Strategies — Bladder training, dietary adjustments, and fluid management techniques that can meaningfully reduce symptoms.
  • Nerve Stimulation Therapy — Gentle stimulation techniques (such as sacral neuromodulation or percutaneous tibial nerve stimulation) that help retrain bladder-nerve communication for overactive bladder.

When conservative measures aren’t enough, we offer advanced surgical solutions using the most minimally invasive techniques available:

  • Minimally Invasive Surgery — Small-incision approaches designed to reduce pain, scarring, and recovery time compared to traditional open surgery.
  • Robotic-Assisted Surgery — High-precision, robotically assisted procedures for prolapse repair and other pelvic reconstructive surgeries, offering excellent visualization and faster healing.
  • Sling Procedures — A well-established, highly effective surgical option for stress urinary incontinence.
  • Prolapse Repair Surgery — Reconstructive procedures to restore normal support and anatomy, tailored to the specific organs and severity involved.

We’ll walk you through the risks, benefits, and expected recovery for any recommended procedure, and we never move forward until you feel ready and fully informed.

When to See a Urogynecologist

Many women wait years before seeking care for pelvic floor symptoms, often assuming they’re a normal part of aging or childbirth. They’re not — and help is available. Consider scheduling a visit if you’re experiencing:

  • Leaking urine when you cough, sneeze, laugh, exercise, or like something heavy
  • A sudden, urgent need to urinate, or needing to go more often than usual
  • A feeling of pressure, heaviness, or bulging in the vaginal area
  • A visible or palpable bulge at the vaginal opening
  • Pain during intercourse or ongoing pelvic pain
  • Difficulty fully emptying your bladder or bowels
  • Recurrent urinary tract infections
  • Accidental leakage of stool or gas
  • Symptoms that interfere with exercise, intimacy, work, or daily confidence

If any of this sounds familiar, please know: these symptoms are common, they are medical conditions — not personal failings — and effective treatments exist. You do not need to “just live with it.” Reaching out is the first step toward relief, and we’re here to listen without judgment and help you find your path forward.
